Exam setup

Sound, reminders & screen

No microphone needed. Quiet mode overrides sounds and speech. Keep this page open; sleep or browser suspension can prevent alerts.

Share or embed this timer

Free to use anywhere

Paste the link into a message, a lesson plan or a Notion page, or the embed code into any site that accepts HTML (WordPress, Google Sites, Canvas, Moodle). Embedded timers show a small VoiceStopwatch credit. Voice control inside an embed needs the host page to allow the microphone.

MAKE IT YOURS

Keep reading and writing time distinct.

Enter an exam label, optional reading time and examination duration. Add the instructions students need to see, choose warning intervals and start. Reading transitions into examination time automatically.

The screen identifies the active phase and shows both its expected end time and the overall finish. Pausing shifts those estimates. Warnings are optional and only sound when enabled; the silent visual display remains usable without audio.

Questions about exam timer

Can I remove reading time?

Yes. Set reading minutes to zero to start directly with the examination phase.

Can I choose when warnings happen?

Yes. Enter remaining-minute thresholds, such as 10, 5 and 1, and choose sound or spoken reminders. Quiet mode overrides all audio. Keep a separate official time reference for supervised exams.

What happens if I close the page?

Recent timer sessions and preferences are stored in this browser when storage is available. Recovery uses your device’s clock. Private browsing, cleared storage and device sleep can affect recovery. Keep the page open and test audio before relying on alerts.
